Cardiovascular exercise should always be part of your workout routine, but there are two other crucial elements to exercise. They are “nutrition” and “weight resistance.” Without all three parts you may not be getting the workout you want or need.



As we age , our muscle tissue shrinks or atrophies. As this happens our metabolism slows down and our bodies can no longer burn off the calories we consume. These extra calories are then turned into fat and stored in our bodies. This, in addition to a sedentary lifestyle, is what causes obesity in many people.

The heart, like other muscles in the body, will also atrophy.

This decreases our cardiovascular output, which causes the heart to be less efficient in pumping blood to our muscles and other parts of our body. In addition, the heart becomes weaker and needs to work much harder to maintain proper function.
